Rock heap

What a lovely photo this is (not)!
This rock heap is right where our pool is going to go (hopefully if we have a good season)
So I will need to create something out of these rocks, most likely a garden bed border, will have to wait till the tractor comes back from the hangar though as they are a little too heavey for me.

Pruning

Another stinker of a day, I have been pruning my grevillea petrophiloides over a couple of days as its such a monster, & still not finished, might have to call the chief in with chainsaw to finish off.
This grevillea is indigenous to our area, which is why it was one of the few healthy plants in the garden when we first arrived, oh & it's also planted right next to the septic!
I let the chooks out that evening & they went wild scratching around looking for insects.

Deck

I took this photo yesterday afternoon, we had a storm, unfortunately only 1ml of rain came of it, but the smells are always there, & I love to walk around the garden after a rain taking the in.

This area is full of very old rosemary & lavender bushes, I am going to take some rosemary cuttings& then pull them all out as we are going to place a small patch of lawn here.

"Its not what you look at that matters, its what you see."

(Henry David Theauro)
 How true is this quote?
Every time I do a marvellous job of pruning a shrub, I always need to ask the chief for affirmations, but he always fails to see the beauty in my skill & can only see the mess of the pruning s left behind!

Carole King

What an amazing woman,  at 71 she belted out her songs so powerfully& beautifully, one of the best concerts I have been to.  The audience was totally mesmerised as she interacted & performed, giving us three songs for encore, I so want to buy her book now "a natural woman"

"Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away."

A view across my front yard,  everything looking extremely dry & thirsty, but oh so much potential, can't wait for a little moisture so I can get digging.

"Each day comes bearing its own gifts, Untie the ribbons"

(Ruth Ann Schabacker)

Well, can't believe I can finally enter something in my blog!  My first entry for 2013.
We made the move to our new property on the 7th of  January, amid temps of 38C & higher, it was excruciatingly stinking hot.
The property is 5 & a half acres, situated on the northern side of town, the house is a steel framed & corrugated iron clad, which sits perfectly in a bush garden setting.
The Internet access is non existent, can't get adsl or 3G, so it seems we must wait for the national broadband network to set us up with a satellite dish, this is so frustrating as I had hoped to blog my gardening right from the word go, but now will e playing catch up for awhile, any time I visiting somewhere I can get Internet.  Presently I am in Margaret River for Leeuin concert, featuring Carole King, can't wait!
The photo above is taken from the deck, looking north across the olive grove.  The olive trees, along with the rest of the garden is in astate of disrepair.  Most plants need a hard prune, a good soaking & some pest control.  There is quite a few plants with severe scale problems, some with borer, & some justit hanging in there by the skin of their teeth.  So first job off the ranks is pruning & soaking, & I will move on from there once I can see what is going to survive & what's not.
A massive task ahead, & I want it all done yesterday, but am excited by by the thought that I can create my very own individual masterpiece (I hope!)
